Vietnamese Competency Framework

Getting the NLTV certificate is a must if you are interested in working in Vietnam or participating in a joint venture exercise with Vietnamese companies in Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring provinces such as Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, etc.

The certificate is valid for 2 years.

Exam schedules

The Faculty organizes six exams, in odd months ( January, March, 5, 7, 9 and 11). In addition, each year, the Faculty also organizes 01 intensive exam in April (in Ho Chi Minh City) and 02 intensive exams in June and December, at Chihlee University of Technology, Taiwan.

Beginner

Studied for 120 hours, finished VSL 1 

Elementary

Studied for 240 hours, finished VSL 2

Pre-Intermediate

Studied for 360 hours, finished studying VSL 3

Intermediate

Studied for 480 hours, finished studying VSL 4

Upper-Intermediate

Studied for 600 hours, finished studying VSL 5

Advanced

Studied for 720 hours, finished studying VSL 5 and other customised materials

Exam Format

For the exams to be objective and achieve high results, the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies has constantly innovated in compiling exam questions, organizing exams and marking exams.

Currently, the Faculty has applied the exam form: An online exam with two skills: Listening comprehension and Reading comprehensionDirect test with two skills of Writing and Speaking. At the same time, candidates can take the Listening and Reading tests in different places.
